    Where is Malawi?

    Malawi is a landlocked country located in South Eastern Africa. It is bordered in the North and East by Tanzania, on the east, south and southwest by Mozambique and to the west by Zambia

    How do i go about obtaining a visa?

    A valid passport, with at least six months to expiry date from intended exit date, is required to enter Malawi. If your passport is likely to expire you should get a new one before arriving. Visas are not obtainable at points of entry must be organised prior to travelling through the nearest Malawian Embassy or High Commission. Please contact your nearest Malawi Embassy/Consulate for more details.

    International flights

    Kenya Airlines, Ethiopia Airlines, South African Airways, Zambezi Airlines. Air Malawi also flies to some international destinations such as South Africa.

    Internal Flights

    Internal air connections can be made from Lilongwe to Blantyre, Karonga, Mzuzu and Club Makokola on the southern Lakeshore.

    Buses

    Bus services are provided throughout Malawi. Luxury coach services are provided by National Bus Company and AXA. Buses are the most cost effective means of transport although there are also minibuses that operate throughout the country which tend to be faster although not always the safest.

    Road Travel

    You will need a valid international driving licence or SADC driving licence. Malawi drives on the left. The main roads in Malawi are generally tarred and are reasonably well maintained.
